The project below, looks to be just a simple mail sorter, and essentially, it is.  That said, it is a great project that is for an even better cause.  Our church has a group of young girls, known as “Girls in Action” or GA’s.  It teaches them about the value and importance of worldwide mission efforts.  This project was the brainchild of that group as a way to generate funds for their projects, etc.  It functions like this.  During the Christmas season, when Christmas cards are being sent by regular mail to church members, it gives you an alternative to simply “put it in their box”.  The only request is that a $.25 donation be made per card.  That is roughly half of the cost of mailing a letter via USPS.  Each year, the box raises a few hundred bucks and goes to a great cause.  It was very well received by the church and now, after about 5 years, it has become a great tradition.  Thanks for visiting!
