This is one of two, new style of cutting board that I am working on. This board was made for a client that is building a new home and wanted a kitchen center piece. The board itself measures 13″x20″ and is a full 2 1/4″ thick. It is extremely heavy duty and weighs nearly 15 lbs. If you look closely, you will see that hidden within the walnut is a cross hair of mahogany. I also matched the mahogany in the feet that are installed on the bottom. I wanted this cutting board to be sleek, yet heavy, and have a presence in the kitchen. The feet on the bottom are different from my signature cutouts, but seemed more appropriate in this design. Thank you WSB. There is a time for flashy, and this was not one of those times. I wanted a classic look that can be a nice countertop feature in the clients kitchen. Walnut is my favorite wood to work with. It used to be maple, but the richness and grain variation in the walnut makes it a fantastic medium to work with. Thanks for visiting!
