ABOUT ME

Hi, thanks for visiting my page!

Peters Party

My name is Chad Hamlin and I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my two lovely daughters.  My educational background is in Architecture.  I am licensed in Florida and Georgia; however, my true passion is building rather than drawing.  In my career as a construction manager, we strive for perfection, but much of it is out of our direct control.  Many of the projects that I have been involved with on a day to day basis are large in scale with the finite details often being overlooked.  I love to be part of large projects; however, I am a detail guy.  I love to tackle a project, where I am in complete control of the quality, the details and the delivery to the recipient…be it a family member or a paying client.  The feeling of accomplishment in conceptualizing, drawing, re-drawing, problem solving and turning something that what was once raw wood into something that is rich, beautiful and functional is a passion of mine.

I have a small shop in my basement, with all of the necessities.  My shop can be summed up by saying that I have 10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lb bag.  Soon, I will be upgrading my shop with additional room and capacity for more exciting projects.   As of late, the majority of my work has been commissioned by paying clients; however, when I have the chance, I involve my two beautiful daughters in the process as much as possible.  At 5 years old, my oldest daughter knows the difference between the majority of the major tools in my shop and will soon be completing projects of her own.  When not completing projects for paying clients, I love to build pieces for and inspired by my daughters, for our church, and for anyone in the community that may benefit.  I have truly been blessed with this ability and have had opportunities to create one of a kind projects for folks all over the country.  I am forever a student of woodworking, and I love the smell of sawdust in the morning!!!

Please, check back often as i am polishing up the website daily.

Warm regards and thanks for visiting,

Chad Hamlin

  1. Chad was one of the students that I looked forward to seeing in the woodshop of the BSU CAP. I do not remember ever hearing the dreaded “yeah I know” response from him, which meant he was open to learning. And, reviewing his portfolio indicates he is still learning, by doing, and paying attention to details, and doing, again.
